I took a bus to Hollywood Bowl last time.  When I get off the bus I had to go under the tunnel to get to the Hollywood Bowl. On my way in the tunnel I saw this musician, I tried to take a picture of him and he gave me such a big smile. I wanted paint this man for some time, and finally I painted  him today.  I have to use black and white paint to make different shade of grays to paint.  I only have to use a range of grays, I can not use black out of tube but, Oops~ I did.... I used black paint out of the tube.  And I don't know how to put big smile on this nice man's face ??

I saw a simple beautiful painting on Daily Painting Website.
The painting reminds me California beach road ,
and I like the way palm trees are painted.
This painting is copy of the artist Rachel Dowd's painting.
I was thinking about painting palm trees
so, this is good way to practice.

Artist Rachel Dowd's original painting,

Wando Island

This is Wando Island  I visited about 2 1/2 years ago. I don't know if I am finished or not with this painting.  I put away this painting thinking I will finish someday, that was some time ago.  Now, I signed up Oil Painting Class at the community college for the spring semester, and I will ask my instructor to give me advises how to improve it, and I will finish painting it soon, hopefully.
This is 18 x 24,  oil on Canvas

This is BEFORE, and AFTER painting to follow.

This is Cinder.
I visited my daughter who lived in northern California a few years ago,
She had a room mate, who had three dogs, and Cinder was one of them.
Cinder is very playful dog, she likes to play Catch the Ball very much.
Once you start to  play with her, she doesn't want to stop,
you have to go on and on.
I was sitting on the deck drinking afternoon tea,
there were many pine cones in the back yard,
she start to brings me pine corns to play with her.
I was tired of throwing pine corns for her after about 100 times.
I pretend I did not see her,
but she was begging  me to continue to play with her.
I ignored her little bit then, I saw this interesting shadow on her face,
I had to take a pictures of her.
I decided to paint from this photo after weighing
my ability of painting this difficult subject matter.
It was very hard to paint as I expected,
because her hair is black and the shadow is sort of  black.

Also, I hope you don't wonder what green, and red things are
on the right upper side of painting.

I have been struggling with this landscaping painting for the last three days.
I wanted paint this photo I took  at Wild Wood  Canyon Area
with thick paint with a lot of depth.
I did two landscaping paintings in a row last, this is  my 3rd one,
that I did not like much, because they are muddy and too flat.
I had a big ambition to paint 3rd one with much hope,
but I had to stop painting after three days
back and forth, painting over and over.
I need a professional art painting instructor more than anything at this time.
I will just stop at this point, and I might grab this painting later to repaint.

Can anybody tell me what to do?

Never mind~
Just wish me luck!
